The Awarding Ceremony of the Strategic Advisory Committee of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Advanced Manufacturing Industry Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the Strategic Advisory Committee of the Alliance) was held in Shenzhen on Nov. 20, 2020. Mr. Sun Xitian, Chairman of CCPIT Machinery Sub-Council, was appointed Chairman of the Strategic Advisory Committee, and Dr. Wilfried Schäfer, President of VDW (represented by Hans Stoter, Executive Director of Messe Nanjing), Ms. Li Dongru, Deputy Secretary General of China Machinery Industry Federation and Mr. Li Xingbin, President of Asia Pacific Region of AMT were appointed members of the Strategic Advisory Committee. Zhang Yaohua, Chairman of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Advanced Manufacturing Industry Alliance, attended and presented the Letter of Appointment.

The Strategic Advisory Committee of the Alliance aims to gather experts and scholars from the global advanced manufacturing and equipment manufacturing industries, give full play to the role of think tanks, promote the development of regional advanced manufacturing technology and equipment manufacturing industry, and enhance the international influence of regional advanced manufacturing industry. Furthermore, it is also to provide strategic direction guidance, industry development ideas, expert opinions and support for the upcoming AMTech & AMC 2021 on Oct. 11-14, 2021.

The Strategic Advisory Committee is currently composed of four experts, with 1 Chairman and 3 members. In the future, it is planned to invite more advanced manufacturing industry experts to join. The Committee will undertake the work of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Advanced Manufacturing Think Tank, provide development-oriented expert advice for the manufacturing industry, contribute ideas and exert efforts for the coordinated development of regional advanced manufacturing industry, and promote the development of advanced manufacturing industry in Greater Bay Area to a higher level.

2020 Advanced Manufacturing Industry Forum was held at the same time, which invited Yang Gang, President of Trumpf (China), Yaoxue, General Manager of Hurco (China), Zhang Zhaojing, General Manager of MAZAK (Guangzhou), Teng Baojian, President of Hexagon South China Business Group, Huang Zhihong, General Manager of China Advanced Manufacturing and Processing Program of Switzerland +GF+, Wu Junbo, Manager of South China Region of Denmark Universal Robots (Shanghai), and other experts to attend and deliver keynote speeches. Moreover, the Forum also conducted in-depth analysis on the cases of transformation and upgrading of domestic and foreign manufacturing enterprises, attracting more than 500 advanced manufacturing industry professionals from Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Through the case analysis and explanation of advanced manufacturing technology, the Forum not only brings new thinking about transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises in the Bay Area, but also promotes the "accelerated" high-quality development of enterprises.

Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Advanced Manufacturing Industry Alliance is an organization jointly established by 21 machinery manufacturing industry associations in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to respond to the national strategy of "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", promote the common development of advanced manufacturing industry in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and enhance the international influence.
